Elaine Chew gives EWGLA XXV Keynote in Brussels

An opportunity arose on short notice to give a keynote lecture at the EURO (Association of European Operational Research Societies) Working Group on Locational Analysis EWGLA XXV at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels, 5-7 June 2019. It was a chance to speak to the Operations Research community about optimization and music data science, and the upcoming work of COSMOS.

The organizer Prof. dr. Lieselot Vanhaverbeke had lined up two female keynote speakers—the other was Prof. Laura Albert from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Conference attendees were treated to classic Belgian fare (fries, waffles, chocolate, and beer) and a walking tour of Brussels.
